LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care
LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care is an intentional approach to healthcare and mental health that explicitly validates, respects, and advocates for individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
Rather than simply being neutral, affirming care actively creates a safe space by using correct pronouns, recognizing the impacts of systemic stress, and tailoring services—from gender-affirming treatments to inclusive mental health support—to honor the full humanity and lived experience of every person.

Mission
To empower LGBTQIA+ individuals through compassionate, trauma-informed, and fully affirming care that honors every unique identity, fosters self-acceptance, and champions holistic well-being in a safe, inclusive environment.

Vision
-
Inclusive Language & Identity Respect: Consistently uses preferred names and pronouns, updates intake forms to include gender-inclusive fields, and avoids heteronormative or cisnormative assumptions.
-
Culturally Competent Providers: Features staff educated on LGBTQIA+ healthcare disparities, minority stress, unique mental health needs, and community-specific terminology.
-
Gender-Affirming Services: Provides access to gender-affirming medical treatments (such as hormone replacement therapy or surgery referrals) using an informed consent model.
-
Safe & Welcoming Environment: Displays clear non-discrimination policies, gender-neutral restrooms, and inclusive visual signage throughout the facility.
-
Sexual & Reproductive Health Support: Offers tailored, non-judgmental sexual health screenings, STI prevention (including PrEP/PEP), and inclusive family-planning or fertility guidance.
-
Trauma-Informed Practice: Recognizes the impact of systemic discrimination, conversion therapy harm, or medical trauma, prioritizing patient safety, autonomy, and privacy.
